I have a Dream

The last unit of the term was about Human Rights and we have finished it by learning some ideas of Luther King and reading a text from his famous speech I Have a Dream:

" I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed:"We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.
I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of the former slaves and the sons of former slaves owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood
I have a dream that  my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

Here you can listen to a song that was dedicated to Luther King. The title is Pride, in the name of love (U2)
I believe this is good end for this unit.

Optional  tasks. You can choose one or both of them.
- Review different current newspapers and select some  news,  articles...in relation with  Human Rights.
Include it, sum it up and write a brief explanation about the facts that are being depicted.
- Thinking of our world, if you Had a Dream (as Luther King had) what was your dream about? Explain  it. You can include a picture, a poem, a comic... to make it clear.

The picture above is called The Cotton Pickers  by W. Homer. Displayed in Los Angeles Museum of Art.
